About Blair:

Hailed as a “songbird with heart" and Winner of the American Songwriter Magazine Lyric Contest (2014), Blair Bodine brings a compelling mix of lyrical mastery and soul-stirring melodies to her music.  Accompanied by rich acoustic guitar, Blair’s songs uplift and unravel before you with themes of love, loss, and spirituality.  Blair's debut album was produced by four-time Grammy award-winner Glenn Barrett at Morningstar Studios in Ambler, PA, her hometown.

Blair’s sound is heavily influenced by the people and places she has encountered while living all across the U.S., from Colorado Springs, to Philadelphia, to Nashville.  She currently resides in New York City where she attended Columbia University and majored in East Asian Languages and Cultures. Blair has always been intrigued by how different cultures use storytelling to create community. She wrote her thesis on Chinese Ethnomusicology.  “Yes,” she says, “nerd alert."

In addition to writing and touring, Blair is committed to music education.  “I was very fortunate when I was younger.  My Mom gave me a guitar for my 13th birthday and nurtured my love of music.  She herself is a beautiful songwriter and knew what a positive impact that guitar would have on my life." When asked about the state of music education today, Blair replied, "These days, schools are cutting their music programs at an alarming rate.  We need to make sure that we don’t lose the next generation of songwriters.”  Committed to music education, Blair recently worked for Steven Van Zandt's Rock and Roll Forever Foundation writing curriculum for middle and high school teachers about the history of American popular music.  Learn more at: www.teachrock.org.

Blair is also involved in global human rights issues.  After college, she received her masters in Non-Profit Leadership with a focus on community music programs.  When Blair was still a teenager, she launched a music campaign called Beyond All Borders to raise awareness about the use of child soldiers.  She has performed at the United Nations, as well as in Ghana and Switzerland.

Since her album release, Blair has received multiple awards that recognize both her songwriting and performing abilities.
